Dear Bethel Church Family,
We have been notified that a worship attendee at the 10:00 a.m. service on December 6th has tested positive for the Covid-19 Coronavirus. While this person has been mainly asymptomatic, we still believe they would have been contagious on Sunday morning. The church has asked that they personally notify the people who came into direct contact with them.
While we are confident that our safety protocols have limited your exposure, if you were present if worship, we do want to encourage you to monitor yourself for possible symptoms for the next week. If symptoms occur, we encourage you to get a Covid test, and if you receive a positive result, please notify the church.
Per our South Carolina United Methodist Annual Conference guidelines, and also due to the rising number of cases we are seeing in Richland County, we are moving our Sunday worship back to VIRTUAL ONLY for the rest of December. We will provide online worship opportunities each Sunday on Facebook and YouTube, and later each day on website, http://www.bethelmethodistcolumbia.com.
Plans for Christmas Eve are still being made. We will keep you informed as to what the worship plans will be.
For now, the church office will remain open during normal operating hours: 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., Monday – Thursday. Our Office Administrator, Sheryl Jones, will be in the office and available by telephone, (803) 787-3058, or email office@bethelmethodistcolumbia.com. Out of an abundance of caution, Pastor Julie is being tested for the virus. She will be working from home until the results of her COVID test come back negative, and can be reached via email jdsonger@umcsc.org or cell phone (803) 319-6169.
Thank you for your patience and understanding, and more so, thank you for your prayers for the healing and safety for those in our church family who are dealing with the virus.
Grace and peace,
Pastor Julie Belman
