Trunk or Treat is Back!

Trunk or Treat With Us…

Sunday, October 31st, 2021 @ 5:00 PM

Do you like candy?

I know I do – and so do all the kids who live near Bethel!

Would you be willing to help us provide a safe and fun way for our church and neighbors to celebrate Halloween? If so, please send a message to the Bethel Church Office.

We would really like for this event to be a success. But we need your help!!!!

Please call the church office @ (803) 787-3058, call or text Pastor Julie (803) 319-6169 and let us know that you will be there.

Bethel’s Trunk or Treat event will take place on Sunday, October 31st, 5:00 PM. All trunks must be in place by 4:45PM (clean up will begin around 6:45PM).

Masks are strongly recommended for everyone who attends. Extra masks will be available at the entrance for anyone who needs one. If kids are wearing a costume mask, that will be acceptable.

Decorate a Trunk: Each “area” will need a trunk decorated and then a table will be placed between you and the vehicle next to you. The trunk is just decorative. Candy will be handed out from tables. The tables between each car create a natural barrier between you and the patrons, as well as the person next to you! We will have hand sanitizer at every station as people go through.

Tables – If you aren’t able to decorate your trunk, we would love for you to host a table! Simply stand behind a table (provided by Bethel) and smile at the trick-or-treaters.

Candy – We need lots of candy! Please drop off candy at the church this week and/or bring your own to hand out on Sunday evening.

Food – Pastor Reggie and his wife Denice have volunteered to cook and serve hot dogs (pre-bagged with chips and water) If you would like to help them, please give Reggie a call.

Bathrooms – the PAB will be unlocked if anyone needs to use the restroom and we will have a volunteer inside monitoring safety and security.

Flow of traffic – We will be using brightly colored duct-tape to create a one-way flow of foot traffic through the event, and to help with social distancing. Our goal is to keep everyone safe!

Setup – We will ask all cars to park in a semi-circle around the back parking lot. Pastor Julie, Martie and Jenny will be there early to direct parking.

A table will be set up across the parking spaces between cars. Candy will be laid out on the tables.
The handicap parking near the PAB and the benches near the Scout Hut will be available for people to eat on if they would like. You are welcome to bring your own chair or blanket as well.

That’s it! Any other great ideas, feel free to reach out to Julie Belman, Martie Walker or Jenny Curran.

Remember to let us know if you are available to help. Thank you for supporting Family Ministries at Bethel!
